The website for the TBNA convention needed to be capable of selling booth and table space at the convention center. I wanted to make this shopping cart experience interactive for the customers, so I worked with a graphic designer to get an SVG image, in which I assigned custom ID’s and classes to each ‘table’ and ‘booth’ path.
I was then able to write custom function calls to the WooCommerce back-end system to see if tables/booths have been purchased already, and display them with either a red or green icon. On their respective product pages, only the selected booth/table shows a green/red icon, depending on its availability.
I also wrote in a custom display for the pricing HTML, to add increased awareness of the sale pricing timeframe.
